A Principal in a school that was owned by several parishes and operated like a corporation as well as one in a parochial setting, I actually spent many of my formative years as a student and teacher in public school settings with a brief stint in an all-girls’ boarding school and a home-school cooperative.
I can say, from personal experience, that organizational structure and school culture are intertwined. In our school communities, we are challenged with creating an environment that requires both the culture and the structure to be developed distinctly, as unique entities, and as part of a greater “whole”.
